Mira.: KOTA KINABALU!!

oh right, i forgot to mention that the ~~other day~~ December last year, I went to Kota Kinabalu (under volunteer school trip) and IT. WAS. AMAZING. Despite the torture of climbing KK, I HAD SO MUCH FUN. I SWEAR. it was 9th December if im not mistaken. until 13th. and then the next day was prom. i know, it was a very hectic yet enjoyable week!

So i swear i didnt expect KK to be like, VERY cold. I thought the summit is the only cold place so basically what im trying to say was, i came unprepared. i didnt even bring my sweater. well i wanted to but i thought i might not use it so i did. yep, regretting at its best. ok so, the first day was okay. we reached (i forgot where sorry) and had dinner. the next day, we went to Timpohon Gate at 9am(we were quite late actually) to start our journey towards Laban Rata. OH MY GOD I DONT EVEN KNOW WHY THE TEACHERS WANTED TO START AT TIMPOHON GATE WHEN THERE'S THIS OTHER GATE OR SOMETHING THAT IS SO MUCH EASIER. ok here's the thing, the journey towards Laban Rata was PURE TORTURE. I complained and whining every single second. IMAGINE-imagine a 8km FLIGHT OF STAIRS. I'll show you pictures. and you'll be amazed by the beauty but trust me, there's a mf monster behind that beauty. But i can't deny the fact that its pretty. BEAUTIFUL. MAGNIFICIENT. yes. totally describe KK.

We were in a team of 8 actually, its me, Sabrina, Afiqah(Mut), Shareena, Hefdzi, Aliff, Isa and Zyan. There's no team of whatsoever actually, its like kind of our 'clique' while we were there(??) so yea. my first thought was 'there's no way in hell i'm going to catch up with them' wanna know the reasons?
1) They're all athletics and im not. (they all run im not kidding)
2) I HAVE NO STAMINA IN ME. i didnt do shit man, all i did was eat sleep eat sleep.

and yeah, my thoughts were true. hahahahaahahhahah its only 2km and im like ' ok you guys go first i need to catch my breath" bcs i feel like dying i swear. they're all so energetic i dont even understand. so i end up walking alone and im fine with it bcs i can actually take my time and walk in my own pace, get it? hahahaahah
ok so i was '''strolling''' by myself when suddenly I came across Sabrina. i was literally like ' why are you here?' she's like 'i dont have the stamina' so we end up laughing together then we walked together, complaining and whining together and god bless, we reached Laban Rata at 3pm (we estimated 4pm so it was really suprising) oh, when we were on our way to Laban Rata, we made friends with Era FM DJ from Sarawak and Sabah, Choppie and Ili, then they introduced us to their friends and yeah, they're cool! we end up climbing with them. but 2km more to Laban Rata they were way behind us. I dont even know why they reached later than us but i guess they were waiting for their other friends so okaayy.

THE SHOWER WAS FREEZING COLD. I MEAN IT. Its like a 5 litre of water being mixed together with 10 huge ass ice. yep. Sabrina and me literally showered for only 5 seconds because we cannot stand the water temperature. ahhh, good memories!!! we slept early, because we need to wake up by 2am to climb towards the summit a.k.a low peak.

its not even 1km yet but i passed 500m im already like ' can i do this? should i go back down? can i do this? omg should i keep going?' but i did tho. i walked and walked and made new friends again with this one abang from uh i forgot, but anyways he accompany me so its really cool. and yes it feels like winter when you reach the rocks part. it was already like 7/7.5km when suddenly i heard someone called out my name. im like ' wtf who is that ' so i called out 'SIAPA TU? SABRINA KE???' but no one answered. im not kidding i feel like running at that exact moment hahahahaah when suddenly sabrina came like ' yeah yeah mmg i. MACAM MANA YOU BOLEH DEPAN I?' she was waaaayyyyyy infront of me tak tipu!! and im like 'HOW COME YOU YG BELAKANG I?' so we're like ' uh.. peliknya ok wtvr lets walk together' so we walk and walk and walk until i can barely walk so i crawl. sabrina laughed. and i made this weird exhausted sound that i myself make fun of it. im like ' sabrina, i feel like giving birth right now. or mcm gorilla' sabrina just laughed so ok. hahahahahaa we walked like 5 steps then we sat down for 5mins hahahaah im not kidding. that was around 5am i think. and we're both like 'sempat ke nak sampai summit before sunrise' but meh, we just walked and we're like 'ok wtvr if tak sampai pun we're proud of ourself considering we've come a long way without any stamina' then suddenly we pass the layang-layang booth around like 5.15 i think.. (layang-layang is the entrace to low peak. you can't go in if its already 7am bcs the oxygen is getting thinner)

finally we reached the low peak and i swear ( damnit i use i swear too much ) i'm like half dying. there's this guy who took our names bcs they're giving us certificate and hes like ' nak ke sijil? ' im like ' NAK LA DAH NAIK SAMPAI ATAS' kau kena sebijik hahahaha then he's like ' ok naik atas sikit go take picture saying youre here' ITS LIKE 10METERS WALK BUT I CAN BARELY WALK. but we did rest after that and it feels great.
The scenery was spectacular and we reached arnd 5.55am so we sempat tengok the sunrise! :-)

We go down straight to the hotel back in a day. yep, crazy. naik low peak, then turun laban rata, then from laban rata turun to timpohon gate. ugh. WHAT A DAY. we turun from peak like arnd 6.15am and reached Laban Rata around 9am. Pack-pack-pack, 10am getting ready to turun from Laban Rata. Reached arnd 3pm. IT WAS EXHAUSTING. but once you reach the peak, you'll feel VERY proud of yourself.

Oh after that they brought us to the tea farm, (huge)fish spa, sulphur bath then hotel blablabla, few hours before balik KL, they brought us to Manukan Islan for abt an hour i think but its ok, we enjoyed.

All in all, i had so much fun! but if i were to choose between 10 OBS and 1 KK trip, i'd choose that 10 OBS in a heartbeat. I wouldnt even take up the challenge to climb KK again even if you promise me 10 million. nope. its once in a lifetime experience. FIRST AND LAST. No more. Unless i'll reach the peak by using helicopter, that i can consider. ngehehehehe
